HD-LOVE Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 19, 2026
HD-LOVE is a Human Design-based compatibility and matching app. To suggest matches and compute charts, the app needs accurate birth information from you and the people you connect with. This policy explains exactly what we collect, who can see it, and what your rights are.

What we collect
Account information
- Email address — used for sign-in. We do not store passwords directly; authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
- Display name
Birth information (used to compute your Human Design chart)
- Birth date — year, month, day
- Birth time — hour and minute
- UTC offset at your birthplace, in minutes
- Birthplace — as a place name (e.g., "San Francisco, CA"). Latitude and longitude are optional.
Birth time and place are required to compute an accurate Human Design chart. If you don't know your exact birth time, your chart will be approximate.
Profile information
- Bio (free-text)
- Photos you upload
- Gender (optional)
- Who you're interested in (multi-select)
- Age range preference
- Distance preference (optional)
Activity inside the app
- Swipes — which profiles you liked or passed on, and when
- Matches — created when both people liked each other
- Messages — the text of messages you exchange with matches
Who can see your data
This is the most important section. Please read it carefully.
- Your profile, photos, bio, gender, and computed Human Design chart are visible to other authenticated users of HD-LOVE. That is how matching works.
- Your birth date, birth time, birthplace, and UTC offset are also visible to other authenticated users, because the chart and compatibility are derived from them and other users may want to verify or interpret the chart themselves. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not use HD-LOVE.
- Your messages are visible only to you and the person you matched with.
- Your swipes (who you liked or passed on) are private to you. Other users only learn you liked them if they also like you (i.e., you match).
- Your email address is never shown to other users.
Third-party services we use
- Supabase — hosts the database, authentication, file storage for photos, and realtime messaging.
That's the entire list. HD-LOVE does not use advertising SDKs, attribution trackers, analytics SDKs, or crash reporters. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we do not use your data to train AI models.
How long we keep your data
Your profile, birth info, photos, swipes, matches, and messages are kept as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all of this is removed from our database (cascade delete). Backups may retain data for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
Note: if you've exchanged messages with someone and you delete your account, your past messages may remain visible in their copy of the conversation (similar to how most messaging apps behave). The messages will be detached from your profile.
Your rights
- Access — you can see your profile, birth info, matches, and messages directly in the app. Email us for a full data export.
- Correction — you can edit your profile and birth info in the app.
- Deletion — you can delete photos individually and delete your account in settings (or by email).
- Unmatch / block — you can unmatch from any conversation, which removes it from your view.
If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA — including portability and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to exercise any of these.
Children
HD-LOVE is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has signed up, we will delete the account.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be surfaced in the app before they take effect.
