Weather — Privacy Policy

Weather is a tool for two people in a relationship. It is a quiet, private instrument — not a social network, not an analytics product, not a place anyone is trying to sell you something. This document explains exactly what we collect, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it.
If you ever want a copy of your data or want it deleted, email support@irons.la and we will handle it within seven days.
Who we are
Weather is operated by Irons Software. Contact: support@irons.la.
The short version
- We store your email address (for sign-in), an optional display name, and the entries you create in the app (check-ins, notices, pauses, phrases, repairs, love notes, and — if you turn it on — cycle data).
- The only people who can ever see your entries are you and the partner you have explicitly paired with. We do not share your data with advertisers, brokers, or any third party.
- We collect anonymized crash reports through Sentry to fix bugs. These reports contain no journal text, no entry content, and no identifying information.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not show advertising. We do not sell anything to anyone about you.
What we collect, and why
Account data

Your entries
Everything you type, tap, or log inside Weather:
- Daily check-ins (mood, feelings, descriptions, reflection responses)
- Notices (somatic signals, intensity, optional notes)
- Pauses (duration, completion)
- High-impact phrases (which phrase, who said it, optional context)
- Repairs (kind, optional notes)
- Love notes (the text you wrote)
- Cycle data (if you enable cycle tracking — cycle start date, length, and a privacy preference that controls how much of it your partner sees)
We collect this because it is the product. Without it, Weather has nothing to show you.
Pairing data
- A six-digit pairing code (expires in ten minutes, then deleted).
- The link between you and the partner you pair with.
Device data
- A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, so we can deliver the push notifications you may opt into (pause called, pause ended, partner checked in, love note received). Quiet hours are honored.
Crash data
- We use Sentry for crash reporting. Sentry receives a stack trace, the operating-system version (iOS or Android), the app version, and a randomized install ID. It does not receive your email, your name, any entry content, any breadcrumbs that could include your data, or your partner's information. We have specifically disabled breadcrumbs and
extra payloads in Sentry to make sure of this.
What we deliberately do NOT collect
- Advertising identifiers (we do not advertise)
- Your contacts or photos
- Your location (beyond the time zone you set in your profile)
- Your microphone or camera
- Any third-party analytics SDK (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
Who can see your data
- You, always.
- Your paired partner, only for entries you have marked as shared. Some entry types (check-ins, phrases, love notes) are shared by design — the app makes this visible in the UI. Other types (notices) are private by default and only promote to shared when you tap "share with partner".
- Us (Irons Software), in encrypted form, through our backend provider (Supabase). A small number of engineers may need access to the database for incident response. We never read entries casually, and we never use them for product analytics.
- Sentry, only the de-identified crash reports described above.
- Apple (on iOS, via APNs) and Google (on Android, via Firebase Cloud Messaging), when delivering push notifications. They receive the partner's display name and the short notification line (e.g. "J called a pause. Back at 8:47."). Neither receives any longer-form entry content.
We never sell, rent, or trade your data, and we do not use your data to train AI models.
How long we keep it
- Live entries: until you delete them or delete your account.
- Soft-deleted entries: thirty days, then permanently removed.
- Pairing codes: ten minutes, or until consumed.
- FCM tokens: until your device unregisters or you sign out.
- Crash reports: ninety days (Sentry default).
If you delete your account, all of your entries are permanently removed within thirty days.
Your rights
- Access: ask us for a copy of your data.
- Correction: edit anything in-app where possible; for anything else, email us.
- Deletion: delete entries in-app, or email us to delete your account.
- Unpair: unlink from your partner at any time in Settings. After you unpair, neither of you can see new entries from the other; past shared entries remain visible until you delete them.
- Push notifications: turn off any time in your device's system settings (iOS or Android) or in the app.
If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA — including the right to portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Email support@irons.la to exercise any of these.
Children
Weather is not designed for or directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If we learn that a child has signed up, we will delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above and notify you in-app before the change takes effect.
